The CJ team headed to Chicago bright and early Tuesday morning to take in the hustle and bustle of Neocon 2019! We started off the day with an in-depth tour of the Teknion showroom where we got to see the latest and greatest workplace solutions from our aligned vendor partner. Our rep showed us the innovative and award-winning Bene Box modular wooden block system, which can be reconfigured to create a bench, a desk or table, a cabinet, and more. Next, we toured the Global showroom to check out the newest offerings for task and lounge seating.

Discovery

We visited many showrooms from vendors that we know and love, but we also found some new lines that we are excited to use on future projects. Discovering something new is one of the many wonderful outcomes of a visit to Neocon. This year, a number of brand-new showrooms debuted at the Mart, including Hightower, which our designers absolutely loved!

Community

The concept of community was emphasized throughout the open-concept designs highlighted in a number of showrooms. Enclosed workstations continue to be a thing of the past as vendors move toward less confined delineations of space for the work place. Many showrooms included whimsical board games in their vignettes, alluding to a playful, laid-back design approach. Nature was frequently incorporated into many displays, as well, through live potted plants in all shapes and sizes.

All around the Mart, felt was the textile of choice. It was featured on panels, banquettes, pillows and even light fixtures! Bright colors like bold green, bright yellow and deep magenta were everywhere, appearing in tile, carpeting, upholstery and wallcoverings.

Inspired

Our team left feeling inspired by the new products we encountered during our visit. It was great to see many of our reps and to make new connections, too! We are already counting down the days until we return to Neocon next year.
