CJ Trend Report 2020 was, of course, very different this year than last year. CJ Trend Report is an event where we gather the trends across our industry and celebrate them and everything else about interior design that we love. 2019 was our first event and it was so. much. fun. We held the event at the beautiful Kimpton Journeyman Hotel. Upon the top floor, the event space spilled out onto the outdoor balcony with a fantastic view of Milwaukee. We enjoyed food, drinks, and door prizes. Really a fantastic time!
This year’s color of the year, announced by Pantone every year, is Classic Blue. A gorgeous, rich navy blue that gives you all the nautical feel just looking at it. The color of the year is the foundation for the color palette we establish for the event. The palette is then further expressed through the trends we identify as being important for the year.
This year’s trends are: Relaxed and Lived In, Conscious Clarity, Embracing Nature, Modern Retro, Phantasmagoria, and Raw Elements. We’ll chat more about them in the coming weeks.
Although this year’s event was completely digital, we were able to feature a really fun Wellness presentation by Dr. Lara Salyer, DO IFMCP.
Dr. Salyer is the mastermind behind Right Brain Rescue and helps folks get their creativity active again. She offers a 10-day challenge on her website RightBrainRescue.com for anyone who would like to find their right brain. (spoiler alert: it’s always been there!)
