Furniture Installer – Entry Level

This position is perfect for the recent high school graduate who would like a full time position working with your hands.
Learn a broad set of skills working with us. You will have the satisfaction of stepping back at the end of the day to see what you built. You will experience a wide variety of project locations. You will be part of an installation team known for their courtesy, respect and professionalism. You will be part of a small company, woman-owned and family run. You will receive the necessary manufacturing training to perform your tasks well.

You will matter.

The skills you will develop in this position are: working in a team as well as independently; mechanical skills to build systems furniture (“cubicles” – these can have hundreds of parts); load/unload trucks; forklift driving; operating a pallet jack; driving a box truck; customer communication skills; read and interpret CAD drawings; follow through and accountability for your work.

What you need: a high school diploma, the ability to lift 50# regularly, 100# occasionally, the willingness to learn and an aptitude for mechanical tasks.

Interior Designer – Entry Level

The skills you will develop as a CJ & Associates, Inc. Interior Designer are:

    • Listening skills – clients, sales team members, project managers and installation teams are people you will interact with regularly
    • Presentation skills – developing your idea into a visual presentation to excite and educate clients about their project
    • Time management skills – often more than one project going at a time; successfully planning to meet milestone dates for on-time ordering and installation
    • Technology – become proficient in CAD, specification software (Project Matrix), rendering programs
    • Installation preparation – generate accurate installation drawings, furniture lists and finish descriptions for a successful project
    • Independence – developing the skills and confidence to lead a project
    • Product knowledge – from furniture systems, seating and ancillary items to interior finishes (i.e. flooring and wallcovering) – using the best product mix for the application
    • Budget management – use furniture selections to make the most effective use of the project budget
    • Professional organizations – be a part of the design community with your membership in IIDA or ASID
